This World Is Murder I
The Megarachnid Xenos were encountered on planet 140.20 or as the Emperor's Children later renamed it 'Murder'.
The Blood Angels dropped to the world after a break in the warp storms surrounding the world. However the storms closed in after they arrived planetside, cutting off all communication.
The Xenos were represented here by the Epic Tyranids v 9.0 with rulesfound in the Rules section.
What will be found when the storms clear?
The marines had never faced this threat before and were unprepared for such devastation. Even with the support of a Warlord Titan from Legio Mortis they could not prevent or halt the advance of the bugs from this world.
The marines resolutely stood their ground and did not surrender lightly.
From the beginning the marrines were on the back foot as the tyranids advanced, the dominatrix in the middle of the field controlling her brood on both sides.
By the end of the first turn both sides had advanced on the two objectives on the hill in the middle of the table.
Turn 2 began with the hidden lictors deploying on the marines back line. Despite being hit by the Devastator squad positioned on the Blitz objective the lictors engaged into them and destroyed them. The marines called in an assault squad with air support to oppose the lictors who promptly destroyed the assault marines.
With more advancing bugs to contend with the marines were being slowly forced back and pinned in from both sides. The turn ended with the marines landing a reserve force on the tyranid back line and destroying the artillery brood positioned there. The tactical formations on the marines left flank were engaged by a charging Hierophant and the assault brood that was advancing with it. The marines had little chance of survival.
Turn 3 saw the genestealer swarm engage the might Warlord Titan but despite ignoring its void shields in combat they still could not hope to damage the mammoth war machine. The warlord hit back and broke the brood who withdrew.
The warlord in turn opened up on a Harridan that was progressing towards it carrying its payload of Hormagaunt assault bugs. The warlord left it with only a single wound, ichor gushing from many impact wounds.
With little to oppose the main tyranid thrust in the middle of the table the marines could not hold out for long.
Victory to the Tyranids. Victory to the Megarachnid.
